LAQUISHA BATSON

LaQuisha Batson focuses her practice on family law, representing clients out of the Bailey & Galyen offices in Dallas, Texas. She attended Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in both Ethnic and Africana Studies. LaQuisha received her law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She was an executive board member of the University’s International Law Society and the Gator Law ACLU. Additionally, LaQuisha was a member of the Black Law Students Association. While in law school, LaQuisha spent one semester studying abroad at Leiden University, in the Netherlands. She also spent a summer, in France, at the University of Montpellier.

After law school, LaQuisha worked as a federal probation officer for the Southern District of Florida, and she eventually transferred to the District of Idaho. In these roles, she crafted comprehensive pretrial bail and presentence reports for both the U.S. Magistrate Court and the U.S. District Courts. LaQuisha provided compelling courtroom testimony, explained the rationale behind guideline applications, and delivered comprehensive assessments on defendant’s risk levels and potential threats to the community.

Before joining the firm, LaQuisha was licensed to practice law in Idaho in 2020. She practiced as a Prosecuting Attorney with the Boise City Attorney’s Office and the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office both in Boise, Idaho. In these roles, she honed her trial skills handling criminal matters.

In 2023, LaQuisha moved permanently to Texas. As an experienced litigator, LaQuisha zealously advocates for her clients. She enjoys traveling, art museums, mystery-thriller novels, spending time with family, and volunteering with non-profit organizations.
